Free Professional Install
Installations come in two forms, Self Installs and Professional installs. Self installs usually happen when you are already with the broadband provider for other services such as Cable Television or Telephone services and usually just involve you connecting the wires and modem to your computer and outlet. Professional Installations are usually needed when you do not currently have any services with the provider you have chosen. The installations usually consist of removing or adding a filter to enable the transmission of broadband signals over your current wiring.
Self installs are usually free from most providers however they sometimes charge you shipping and handling costs to send you the needed materials. These kits usually come with a few wires, splitters, and connectors to connect your modem and computer. They also come with a Compact Disc to install your providers included software and set up your computer to connect to the broadband network.
Professional installations usually will run you a small fee added to your first bill or by paying the installer when he gets to your house. The install usually involves the removal or addition of any house filters needed, and the installation and setup of your computers wired connection to the computer. Some installers will even run the installation CD for you to get you started. Free Professional Installs offered by
